My name is Aaron Baker. I live in Sorrento, FL. I was born in Lakeland, Florida in 1980. I have worked in different campaigns and most recently helped support early voting in Pennsylvania. Before hurricane Milton made landfall I was sitting on my couch and thought how can I make a difference as an average citizen? I began connecting with acquaintances in Pennsylvania. Spending time on the ground in Pennsylvania before November 5th taught me that anyone has the ability to step up and make a difference. Over the past 4 years I have seen how an administration without connections to the community can devastate the citizens it was sworn to serve. I believe with all of my heart and soul; President Trump will greatly improve the day-to-day life of every American he has been sworn to serve.
I do not have substantial wealth.
I have a loving family and friends that are supportive of my dream to serve every citizen of FL-6.
I have posted positions on my X page (@aaron4fl6) away from my personal page (@TheABCo) so that every policy is easy to find in one location.
I understand The President-Elect has encouraged State Senator Randy Fine to run.
I want whoever our next congressman is to understand why so many residents line up for 40 cents off per gallon at Circle K.
Saving $10 on a tank of gas makes a difference to every resident waiting there in line.
“With God, All Things Are Possible.” - Matthew 19:26
This video further describes the polices that I have expressed for Florida's 6th Congressional District by way of a Radio show!!
Economic Recovery, Inflation, and Regulation
The Biden economy has FL-6 residents struggling with gas prices, food prices, and housing cost.
Your elected representative should support President Trump’s deregulation of energy policies.
Energy costs between 2016-2020 vs 2020-2024 have burdened the average Florida family by an additional $218 per month.
This figure includes fuel and heating/cooling costs alone.
Grocery prices between 2016-2020 vs 2020-2024 have risen from a weekly average of $210 per week to $280 per week.
The average home now costs $398,000.
This amount includes about $100,000 in local, state and federal regulations.
While Floridians want homes that can withstand hurricanes, we don’t need the federal government to tell us how many solar panels we need.
We also do not want the federal government legislating whether or not we can have a gas stove.
Floridians are resilient.
We need a representative in congress who understands the difficulties that most Florida families are facing on a daily basis.
It’s great we survived 4 years on “$5 biggie bags” for lunch.
Now we are ready to prosper.
By reducing inflation and greatly reducing regulations, Floridians can have an additional: $298 per month in groceries savings $218 per month in energy savings $540 per month in interest and deregulation of housing savings.
This means an average of $1,056 more in your family’s pocket every month with conservative policies coming from Washington, DC. The federal government’s function is NOT to cost citizens an additional $1,056 per month because of reckless policy.
The federal government is not the solution to our problems.
The federal government is the problem.
Florida schools are poised to become national leaders in education when the responsibilities of the Department of Education are returned to the states.
Voluntary Pre-K I will work with local faith leaders to advocate for early learning programs.
Faith leaders will stress the need for educating youths beginning at an early age.
Every educational institution in FL-6 should be at Gold Seal level.
I will work with every school in FL-6 to ensure that every need is met on a federal level.
This will occur until the Federal Government is removed from the equation with the abolishment of the Department of Education.
Afterwards, I will work to ensure the State of Florida’s educational system is fully funded.
Expanding vocational training; Job training creates a brighter future for our youth.
There are a variety of options available: Medical Technology Business Management Hotel Management Agriculture Computer Hardware Automobile Repair (just to name a few)
I believe that community college should be tuition-free.
The benefits of providing higher education for our youth outweigh the cost I also believe this would enable students in community college to work part time, providing a combination of educational and real-world experience.
Addressing environmental concerns versus government regulation as a project manager for a general contractor in Central Florida
Let me share this story: Hurricane Ian made landfall on September 28th, 2022.
I had a homeowner call our office to request help with obtaining a permit for a dune crossover.
(March 2024) His access to the beach had been completely destroyed during the hurricane.
The homeowner had hired a local handyman to rebuild the dune crossover.
After the work was completed, he received a notice from Volusia County that he had not obtained a required permit.
My office then filed for a permit.
Oh, wait! We needed an environmental sign off to obtain the permit (for the work already completed).
Sea turtles can nest under dune crossovers. Sea turtle nesting season is from May-October annually.
We obtained the necessary sign offs.
The environmental office did not immediately communicate with the permitting office, thus putting us into nesting season.
“Call us back after nesting season.”
November 2024, the person who signed off on environmental permit no longer works in the same department.
This means the journey begins anew.
There needs to be an all-in-one permitting process for construction taking into account environmental concerns.
I will work with state and federal agencies to build a streamlined process.
All relevant parties need to work in tandem.
Reasonable government regulation to protect air, sea, and land are necessary for an ever-growing population.
Most Americans agree with these basic principles:
1. We want to drink clean water
2. We want to breathe clean air
3. We do not want trash on the beach
4. We want Sea Turtle nesting areas to be protected
Promoting renewable energy -
1. Expansive domestic production
2. Renewable energy
3. Nuclear energy
4. Critical mineral mining
5. Reliable energy supply
6. Predictable federal resources and regulations
I will approach renewable energy with an “all of the above” mindset.
My goal from day 1 will be to Make Energy Affordable Again.
Social Security and Healthcare benefits should increase at the same rate as the interest rates on 30-year government issued bonds.
Why should the Federal Government give China a higher rate of return than its own citizens? I will not allow this to continue. This increase will be based on the closing 30-year bond rate on the last business day of November, American seniors should not have to wonder if they are going to receive an added benefit the following year. This should be written into Federal law. No cuts to Medicare.
Congress needs to work with state leaders to attract more General Practitioners to underserved areas. Congress needs to work in a bipartisan-partisan fashion to find a solution to insurance costs.
Americans should not pay more than Europeans for the exact same medication.
Infrastructure needs to be developed to manufacture medications in America.
Substance abuse initiatives need to be in constant focus.
Mental health initiatives- I believe there needs to be a special relationship between families, churches, and local leaders. Local leaders need to spend time with faith leaders to expand mental health initiatives.
When families spend time together, the overall mental health of the community improves.
Infrastructure and Development I have family in the Baltimore/Washington area; thus, I travel frequently.
It takes me about 55 minutes to drive to Orlando Airport.
Once there, parking is a nightmare - more often than not I end up parking in “Economy West.”
I would much prefer to fly out of Daytona Beach, but the flight schedule is far too limited and much more costly.
Orlando currently averages 500 incoming commercial flights per day.
Daytona currently averages fewer than 10 incoming commercial flights per day.
Ocala currently averages fewer than 2 incoming commercial flights per day.
Ninety percent of FL-6 residents live closer to Daytona or Ocala than MCO, however 98% of residents do not utilize one of our two closest airports.
I will work with Volusia County to expand Daytona Beach Airport and attract more commercial flights through tax incentives.
I will also work with Volusia County to upgrade Daytona to accommodate an average of 20 daily incoming flights by July 2026
The right of people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Beyond the text written in the Bill of Rights, very little consensus exists.
When speaking with Federal Firearms Licensed dealers, it has become apparent in the last 4 years that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms has become weaponized.
For example, when an application is filled out with a misspelled word or impermissible abbreviation (Rd vs Road), the applicant can be denied or prosecuted for filling out the form incorrectly. The Federal Firearms Licensed dealer can also lose their license.
AFT needs to work in conjunction with Federal Firearms Licensed dealers, not against them.
We need to find areas of agreement. I will propose federal funding granted to state and local governments to provide gun safety classes to its citizens at no cost.
Classes can improve safety, accuracy and confidence.
This is the one area in which we can all agree.
I will continue to advocate for HR 9745 “Lifesaving Gear for Police Act.”
This bill was created to provide state and local law enforcement with the necessary military surplus hardware to do their jobs. HR9745 is an answer to Executive Order 14074.
Executive Order 14074 came about two years after the death of George Floyd.
The underlying goal was to promote fair and impartial justice for all.
Unfortunately, by signing this Executive Order, President Biden also limited the ability of law enforcement to have the necessary hardware to do their jobs.
I will propose the following amendments to HR9745.
I do not believe this bill goes far enough to protect law enforcement.
We may have another administration in the future try to limit law enforcement's ability to do their jobs.
Section 7 of EO 14074 bans chokeholds and carotid restraints.
This may look good on paper but could result in federal charges against a police officer or officers unknowingly in the course of restraining a suspect.
I would rather have a suspect restrained than shot.
Section 10 of EO 14074 restricts no-knock entries.
I believe if a court signs off on a no-knock entry, the federal government’s authority should not supersede that of the state or municipality.
Section 13 of EO 14074 - Appropriate use of body worn cameras.
I believe the state and local governments need to use common sense.
For example, the federal government does not need to tell the local chief of police that he or she needs an active body-worn camera while walking around their office.
As EO 14074 is currently written, a federal government bureaucrat would have the ability to say ‘they’ believe it should be worn. Section 13 (d) (i) Facial recognition technology and predictive algorithms - federal government overreach could raise serious civil rights, civil liberties, and accuracy concerns.
I do not believe the federal government should tell state and local government which technology they can and cannot use.
Section 14 Collaborative response to persons in behavioral or mental crisis - why in the world are we allowing the federal government to tell every state and municipality how to respond in each individual situation?
I believe this is federal government overreach at its worst.
The above listed issues will be addressed in amendments.
I will pursue an open dialogue between all elected officials and officers on the front lines to ensure that law enforcement has exactly what they need to keep our streets and themselves safe.
Furthermore, I will work with the incoming administration to ensure that criminal justice reform is a top priority.
No American citizen should have a different punishment because of skin color, socioeconomic conditions, or political beliefs.
There is so much more that needs to be done to assist law enforcement.
One of the biggest struggles is attracting new law enforcement officers.
When speaking to a retired sheriff’s deputy, I was told “we have been villainized, we have no support, we are always concerned with what the public will think, we have no funding.”
I will work with faith-based leaders to remove the existing stigmas surrounding law enforcement.
I believe law enforcement needs to be welcomed into the community.
Communities need to be safe.
Americans need to feel safe in their communities.
Currently the Department of Housing and Urban Development manages over 1 million homes across the United States.
When eligibility criteria are met the resident then signs a lease, pays a deposit and is managed by a local housing agency forever.
This is an endless cycle of “big brother.”
We need to break the cycle.
We have a once in a generation opportunity to create a sense of pride in the community in which these residents live.
I will support transferring ownership from the federal government to the American citizens currently in the Department of Housing and Urban Development cycle. Communities are connected by home ownership.
Safety is developed around a community.
Income, race, background, political affiliation; throw it all out the window.
Level the playing field for all Americans.
I will support Economic Development Zones within areas of FL-6 to encourage economic development.
Financial advantages for citizens to start companies is an additional way to have a sense of pride and a stake in the outcome of the community.
In December 2023 the construction company I worked for went out of business.
In January of 2024 I had the opportunity to start a construction business in Central Florida with one of my good friends.
We quickly learned it is burdensome to navigate the seas of The Small Business Administration benefits.
The Small Business Administration should be expanded to have an office in every congressional district.
I do not mean some huge government building.
I mean an office in some existing government space with 2 employees.
Currently The Small Business Administration has offices in Jacksonville, Orlando, and Miami.
These three offices are open by appointment only.
American citizens need a government that works for them. Citizens need a better understanding of existing programs to help nurture new businesspeople.
I understand this is an expansion of government.
This is the only area of government I support expanding.
I was born in Lakeland, Florida.
At an early age my mother wanted to be closer to her parents in rural Western Kentucky, thus I grew up in Greenville, Kentucky.
Growing up in small town America our church would often undertake community projects after school and on the weekends.
Sometimes we raked leaves.
Sometimes we mowed grass.
Sometimes we picked up trash around the church.
The point is we all felt like we were a part of the community.
I will work with area faith-based leaders to develop after school programs in which young teens can begin to understand the importance of communities and the benefits and responsibilities of membership in your community.
The world looks to the United States for leadership.
It is difficult to dispute that the last four years of United States foreign policy has been a dumpster fire.
Prior to 2020, the world was at relative peace.
Let’s examine how President Trump accomplished this and how it will be accomplished again.
The Abraham Accords.
The Abraham Accords Declaration was signed by:
Israel - Bahrain - United States
Israel - Morocco - United States
Israel - United Arab Emirates - United States
Sudan - United States
The general idea of the Abraham Accords was to promote a lasting peace between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
I will unconditionally support The Judaism faith and Israel in its defense.
Israel should never have to question the loyalty of the United States.
I believe the only limit to our support of Israel should be nuclear weapons.
I will support an expansion of the Abraham Accords.
If Palestine is serious about making lasting peace, they should be allowed to sign the Abraham Accords.
If Palestine does not want to exist outside of history books, they should continue to play with fire.
Taiwan and China
I support the expansion of naval bases in Japan and the re-start of the United States Taiwan Defense Command.
This will require the United States Department of Defense to dedicate substantial resources to surpass the pace at which the Chinese are producing submarines, aircraft, and ships.
How to pay for this?
Most of the time if you need to find the answer, simply look back in history.
The Lend-Lease Act was originally passed by Congress in 1941. The original framework in the Lend-Lease act will need to be debated and passed by congress with modern framework.
By signing a 100-year lease with Taiwan and Japan, this would allow Taiwan and Japan to pay for their own defense with shared technology developed to protect the United States and its interest globally.
Russia - Ukraine
This warrants little discussion because it will be a settled matter once President Trump is given the opportunity to develop a peace deal.
I do not support sending additional weapons nor funds to Ukraine.
The United States will never have boots on the ground in Ukraine.
The peace deal will not make either country 100% happy - nor should it.
This may involve short term harsh sanctions on Russia. Sanctions can simply be removed once a peace deal is made.
Continued Support of NATO.
Yes, we are going to support NATO until the day when we all live in a peaceful world.
We do need to continue to pressure NATO members to pay 2% of GDP for their own defense - keeping in mind this should be the minimum required contribution.
If NATO members cannot afford to pay additional funds above what they are paying now, they can issue bonds which other NATO members can purchase at the same rate as the United States 30-year treasury bond.
NATO members will have the ability to purchase said bonds and close the funding gap that currently exists.
Iran
Stop the flow of money.
The United States is never going to eliminate 100% of the money. The smaller amount of money Iran has access to, the fewer problems they are able to create in the world.
Under Trump’s first administration, no new wars were started. Under Trump’s second administration, our defense and partnerships need to be strengthened so we do not find ourselves needing to put out a dumpster fire ever again.
Take note world.
The United States is back.
